There is a place, I am told, where people live every day with much balance, joy and wellness. In this place they weave into the fabric of their lives the full range of creative expression...they create, carve, draw and paint. They dance, make music and sing songs. They work. They tell stories. They touch. They cry. They laugh. They dream and honor those dreams! They understand that their journey is woven together with spirit, heart and community.

There is another place I know where the people work to live. Achievement is defined as how much one accomplishes and strength comes from going it alone. These people have been taught that finding one's voice and allowing its expression is something to be relegated to a different box. Dance has become exercise and Art is for those who are "special". Storytelling is for children needing to rest at bedtime. Dreaming is for the young. And singing, dancing and sharing in community is something we "squeeze" in. Tears are only for the weak. Consider:

How might your life be different if when you were young and growing you were taught that finding your voice and giving it full expression was your birthright?

How might your life be different if there was a space for you to create and express without judgment? A place where, in sacred circle, your dreams and stories and pain were honored and celebrated...where tears and laughter and anger were equally valued... where someone knew that each one of us walks a different path and that it is only in community that we can learn with and from each other.
